Author Ed Scott is a man of many talents. Although he spent years in public safety, first as a deputy sheriff and then as a firefighter/paramedic, he was always writing. Early writings were specifically directed at curricula for the various courses he taught in defensive driving, didactics and field aspects of safe "Code 3" driving, First Aid, CPR, as well as fire suppression and emergency medical services classes. He held a teaching certification in Fire Science in the State of Arizona. Over the years, he developed and wrote several manuals, specifically designed for each class.
His teaching reached out to public school students, both elementary and secondary, with a unique course he developed in anatomy and physiology. This program was funded by a Grant which he applied for and received. The classes began in the Verde Valley of Arizona, and gradually were introduced and presented throughout the entire state.
While doing various teaching assignments, both for his public safety peers and to community members, especially in the schools, he began to branch out into other ways to teach and began appearing in various training videos. That led to Ed beginning to explore another career, too, gradually getting involved in modeling and commercial endorsements. But, while he was modeling for romance novels, he was writing down his own ideas! He knew he had found what he really wanted to do.
The nerve that had been touched was that Ed had been a long time lover of history. He began to experiment with historical research and writing, and even into non-fiction. Gradually, he was moving away from limiting himself to educational curricula.
Finally he branched out to writing about romance which he has been actively involved in for a number of years as a Romance Model for Book Covers and Stores. He completed his first romantic western and is currently working on his second book in the series.
